More Visitors!

We were so lucky to be visited by my parents for a few days when Trey was 2 weeks old! I feel really lucky that my mom was healthy enough to make the trip, as she had just finished her chemo and radiation treaments for breast cancer. We loved having them here, and Trey thought his roommates were awesome! We spent most of the time cuddling, but managed to make a visit to our favorite place, the Tin Fish restaurant on Lake Calhoun. It has amazing fish and chips, ice cream, and views!

My dad also found time to sand, seal, and assemble our adirondack chairs for our patio. We LOVE them and Trey and I love to sit outside and people watch during the day!

Thanks for coming, Nana and Papa!

Announcing Trey Hudson Nicholas

Welcome to our blog! I have been super reluctant to start one of these, but since we are now halfway across the country from all of our friends and family, I thought it was the easiest way to keep everyone in the loop. Tyson and I have been married for over 3 years now, and last fall we moved to Minneapolis for a great career opportunity. We have loved living in the city and experiencing all that Minneapolis has to offer! As soon as we moved, we found out we were expecting our first child! After an exceptionally loooong, COLD winter, and what felt like the longest, most humid July in history, Tyson and I welcomed our little boy Trey Hudson Nicholas on August 2, 2011! He was born at 1:33 pm at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He is as healthy as can be, and has been a VERY good baby! He looks exactly like Tyson, including his dimpled chin (thank goodness!) He has big, dark blue eyes, strawberry blonde hair, big cheeks and the cutest mouth I've ever seen. He makes lots of "little boy" noises, including really funny grunts that I hope never go away!

The first week was just the three of us, and to be honest, I don't remember much! Everything was such a blur, I just remember being thrilled, exhausted, emotional and overwhelmed beyond my wildest dreams. I can say that it was FAR more difficult than we ever imagined, but also SO rewarding!

The second week, Tyson's mother come to our rescue! There is no doubt that Trey and his Grandmama fell in love with each other at first sight! We sincerely appreciate all her help... especially with those midnight feedings!

These two lovebirds were inseperable!

We had a professional photo shoot with a great photographer and we are thrilled with how photogenic our little guy is! Here is preview of the pics... more are on their way!

Silly little guy! Already has a sense of humor : )
